Sound in the theater

We invite you to the meeting “Sound in the theater”, which will take place at the Ludowy Theater in Cracow on September 14, 2016. The meeting is dedicated to artistic directors, technical directors, sound engineers, acousticians and people interested in sound systems in theaters and cultural institutions. A mini recital, a speech by Theater representatives and a lunch with a panel discussion are planned.

The modern sound system installed on the Big Stage contributed to expanding the theater’s repertoire. Now, the Big Stage can host various types of events, such as theater and ballet performances, festivals, music and dance events, readings and more intimate performances. It became possible to stage the play “Amy. Club 27”, using the story of Amy Winehouse as a bridge, connecting her with other prematurely deceased artists. Music plays a huge role in this performance, which is why the appropriate sound level is so important.

The September meeting “Sound in the theater” will take place on the Big Stage. First of all, the artistic group of the Ludowy Theater will perform, presenting the capabilities of the installed sound system – functional and unobtrusive. Then, the representatives of the Theatre, the system designer – Wojciech Zieliński and the audio equipment supplier – Dysten will speak.

The meeting will end with lunch and a panel discussion, during which all participants’ questions regarding sound and modern technologies in cultural facilities will be answered.

• 11:00 Mini recital, presentation of the sound system – artistic group of the Ludowy Theater
• 11:20 The power of sound – the system users, i.e. representatives of the Ludowy Theater, will speak
• 11:40 Sound in the theater, a contemporary tool – Wojciech Zieliński, sound system designer, Telos
• 12:00 Lunch and discussion panel over coffee

There is no cost associated with attending the meeting for registered participants.
