TWO INTERNATIONAL GLOBAL LIGHT RAIL AWARDS

Dysten won two major international awards during the finals of the Global Light Rail Awards 2018 in London. The cause of both successes was the company’s commitment to the latest technologies based on low energy consumption, implemented for the needs of passenger information.

Solution analysis  – how do the Brits do it?

The Global Light Rail Awards competition is organized so that participants do not know who examines their solutions personally. Each evaluation team includes up to 5 people. Each category is assessed by a different team of experts. All members of the jury professionally deal with public transport – there are representatives of transport operators and organizers, global consulting companies specializing in public transport consulting, as well as individuals responsible for public transport in metropolises.

Nagroda GLRA2018 global

Best Customer Initiative 2018

First of the awards – Best Customer Initiative 2018 – was awarded by the jury for the e-paper timetable. The technology originally used in e-book readers, turned out to be vandal resistant, weatherproof and…flexible in the Dysten implementation – like many solutions that Dysten offers.

The e-paper timetable allows to manage displayed timetables and warnings centrally – via the Internet, e.g. by using the cloud, and independently for each stop. The power consumption is so low that expensive power connections are unnecessary, and the system can be expanded by adding additional options to increase the safety of travelers to it.

The main patron of the Best Customer Initiative award is The North Star – a global consultancy-oriented company that advises major transport operators and cities on how to create public transport solutions to meet the challenges of tomorrow. The awarded e-paper timetable allows to save large amounts of money, which are typically allocated by transport organizers in the case of typical passenger information systems to cover electricity bills.

Technical Innovation of the Year 2018

The second of the prestigious awards won in London by Dysten – Technical Innovation of the Year 2018 – Infrastructure – is given to some of hundreds of companies and best ideas from around the world every year. In said category, the unbeatable winner was the new e-paper timetable, which was assessed to be an opportunity to reduce maintenance costs, especially outside city centers, without losing functionality.

Thanks to additional options, operators and organizers of public transport can increase safety at stops, send dynamic warnings and messages to any location, as well as display them in a graphical form. The patron of the Technical Innovation of the Year award is UK Tram – an organization that brings together largest public transport operators within the borders of the British Isles.

The Dysten company awarded in the United Kingdom

The British SME News magazine has announced the winners of the UK Transport Awards 2021. Dysten has been selected as the Best European Manufacturer of Variable Message Signs and Parking Displays.

According to British experts, the transport sector is fundamental to the economy. It exerts an influence on almost all areas of business and our daily lives. Regardless the endeavour of numerous companies to move their operations into the digital sphere, goods still need to get to factories and stores, and employees to their working place, and then back home. Not everything can be done online.
