Dysten is a finalist of the largest Polish design competition

An extremely energy-saving passenger information system device in E-paper technology, designed and manufactured by Dysten, was in the final of the 25th anniversary competition of the Institute of Industrial Design in Warsaw.

Several hundred products, devices and services competed to enter the finals of the Dobry Wzór competition. The finalists include: Mercedes-Benz E-class All-Terrain, Twist 2015 tram and Elf 2 train of Pesa Bydgoszcz, Impuls II Newag traction set, SsangYong Rexton SUV, Krups Evidence coffee machine, Paged furniture collections and many other products – also small and refined utility forms such as door handles or street lamps.

The final in Warsaw’s Old Town will select the winners, and all finalists will be on display during the ceremonial exhibition. The patronage over the competition, the exhibition and its catalog is provided by: the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology, the Industrial Development Agency, the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, and the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland. The winners will be selected in the following categories: Home, Work, Public Sphere, Services, New Technologies, Graphics and Packaging, New Materials, Transport and Communication, Fashion and Accessories.

Industrial design is an integral part of every product we use. A smartphone, a car, a spoon, a carafe, a perfume bottle and a bench may be durable but inconvenient or so crude that we are reluctant to use them. If the chair is nice, functional and durable – it is a sign that the teams responsible for the design and its functionality and durability have neatly combined them into an industrial product.
