Real-Time Passenger Information System for public transport in Stalowa Wola

DYSTEN is currently implementing another project within the area of Dynamic Passenger Information Systems. Following a successful public tender, DYSTEN has been entrusted with the design, delivery, and comprehensive implementation of the Real-Time Passenger Information System for public transport in Stalowa Wola. The project includes not only the installation of modern passenger information displays but also the expansion of the technical infrastructure required to ensure their proper and reliable operation.
Scope of work
DYSTEN is responsible for the implementation of Part II of the project entitled:
“Delivery and implementation of a real-time passenger information system for the needs of public transport in the area of the City of Stalowa Wola, including construction works related to the expansion of the existing infrastructure”.
This is a comprehensive undertaking. The scope of DYSTEN’s responsibilities covers both the development of urban infrastructure and the commissioning and preparation of the complete system backend. A key element of the project is the retrofitting and configuration of equipment in the operational municipal server room, which serves as the technological centre of the entire system.
DYSTEN is responsible for:
- delivery and installation of dynamic passenger information displays in 16 locations in the city of Stalowa Wola,
- implementation of power supply and telecommunications connections, including construction of foundations for the equipment,
- construction of cable ducts infrastructure,
- installation of fibre-optic and electrical lines,
- execution of required measurements and preparation of as-built documentation,
- retrofitting, configuration and commissioning of the system,
- delivery of operational and administrative training for systems users.
The new dynamic passenger information displays will be installed at multiple locations, including Poniatowskiego, Okulickiego, Kwiatkowskiego, Dąbrowskiego, Ofiar Katynia and Jana Pawła II streets.
Technology that supports everyday travel
The Dynamic Passenger Information System enables continuous tracking of public transport vehicles and real-time analysis of operational data. The collected information is presented to passengers in a clear and accessible format, allowing them to monitor scheduled departures, potential delays and service changes on an ongoing basis.
The investment will further strengthen and integrate the city’s passenger information infrastructure. The expansion of the server backend will create a stable and secure technological environment, ensuring reliable system performance and readiness for future development and scalability.
The implementation in Stalowa Wola is a comprehensive undertaking – from field and infrastructure works, through the installation of equipment, to the launch of technological facilities that will enable the processing and presentation of data in real time. The result will be a system that really supports residents in their daily travel planning and raises the standard of public transport services in the city.
The completion of the works is scheduled for the second half of this year.
The investment is co-financed from the program entitled “Mobile Development of the Functional Urban Area Stalowa Wola – Stage I” implemented under the European Funds for Eastern Poland 2021-2027 program, Priority FEPW.03 Sustainable Urban Mobility, Measure FEPW.03.01 Sustainable Urban Mobility.
